Men’s Therapy

Men can experience pressures around relationships, work, family, identity and expectations that are not always easy to discuss. Men’s therapy provides a confidential and supportive space to explore difficult thoughts and emotions, understand what may be affecting you and develop healthier ways of managing the challenges you are facing.

A Space to Talk Without Judgement

You may be used to dealing with problems yourself, concentrating on work, family or other responsibilities rather than talking about how you feel. Sometimes that works; at other times, things can gradually become harder to manage.

Therapy provides dedicated time where you do not need to put on a front, have the right words or already know what needs to change. You can talk openly about what is happening and begin making sense of thoughts, emotions or experiences that may have been difficult to acknowledge elsewhere.

Sessions are shaped around you and what you want to explore. The aim is not to tell you how you should feel or behave, but to help you understand yourself better and find ways of responding to life’s challenges that feel healthier and more manageable.

Take the first step with a confidential conversation about what you're experiencing and the support that could help.

What Can Men's Therapy Help With?

Men come to therapy for many different reasons, from pressures at work or home and relationship difficulties to anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, anger, addiction, separation, bereavement or major changes in life.

You do not need to wait for a crisis or have a clearly defined problem. Recognising that something does not feel right, or that the way you have been coping is no longer working, can be enough reason to talk. Our Mental Health Support pages explore common difficulties such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, stress and low self-esteem in more detail, including how therapy may be able to help.
